Half and Full Day

In 2010 why not join us on a weekly guided walk to the summit of Ben Nevis.

August dates are Wednesday 11th, Thursday 19th adn Tuesday 24th.

Walk at a leisurely pace and in a group to a maximum of 12 - minimum of 4.

Places are limited so book early to avoid disapointment.

Prices start from £30 per person. Or stay at the Great Glen Hostel for two nights including the walk from £55.00

You will need walking boots (trainers are not allowed), a rucksack with a spare jumper, waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers, hat, gloves water, lunch and some extra food.

 Half day walks 4 hours
 

£18 pp minimum of 4 or £65 for private guide

There are a number of fabulous short walks in the local area. We can take you to hidden Glens, waterfalls and fabulous view points within 4 hours.

Suggested Half day walks

  • Glenmoriston to Fort Augustus over Wade’s road
  • Lady falls and the Great Glen View Point – a wonderful waterfall walk in the Corrieyairack area
  • Loch Lundie – from Invergarry around Loch Lundie under the Millennium windfarm
  • Beinn a Bhacaidh – overlooking Loch Ness and Fort Augustus.   
  • Glen Buick – a hidden glen between Fort Augustus and Invergarry

Full day walks
£32 minimum of 4 or £120 for private guide

With 59 Munros within a 20 mile radius of the hostel we are spoilt for choice.  There are also a number of other mountain walks and lower level walks to explore the local area.

Suggested Walks

  • Corrieyairack pass – A historic pass with superb views
  • Ben Nevis summit – the ultimate challenge
  • Ben Nevis Explorer – Experience Ben Nevis from under the magnificent North Face walking to the height of the halfway lochan
  • Ben Tee – walking from the hostel, a prominent peak in the Great Glen
  • Loch Lochy Munros – Sron a Choire Ghairbh and Meall na Teanga super walking from the hostel
  • Meall Fhuar  - a peak overlooking Loch Ness with wonderful views to the Cairngorms, Glen Affric and beyond.
  • Other areas such as Glen Shiel, Kintail and Glen Nevis
